This Privacy Policy explains what data Runback (“Runback”, “we”) handles when you use the Runback desktop application and the Runback browser extension, and why.
What Runback is
Runback is a no-code web-automation tool. You show it a task once; it turns your demo into an automation that can run again on schedule. The browser extension is the in-browser agent for the desktop application: it records the actions you perform on a website and replays automations you create. The extension is controlled by, and reports results to, the desktop app on your computer; it performs no actions on its own.
What we access and why
Runback accesses the following only to provide its function (recording and running your automations):
- Website content — the page’s structure (DOM), element attributes and visible text, so it can locate and operate the elements your automation targets; and the clicks, keystrokes and navigation you perform while recording.
- Tab information — the URL, title and load status of the tab(s) you are automating, to target the correct page and synchronize steps.
- Cookies — session cookies of the site you are automating, so an automation can continue inside your existing logged-in session.
- Local settings — extension and app settings and a per-browser instance identifier, stored locally on your device.
Runback acts on a page only when you explicitly record or run an automation you created. It does not track or monitor your general browsing.
Where your data goes
The browser extension transmits the data above only to the Runback desktop application installed on your own computer, via Chrome native messaging (or a localhost fallback at 127.0.0.1). The extension itself does not send your data to any third party.
Cloud processing & retention when building or debugging automations
To generate, run or repair (debug) an automation, the Runback desktop application sends the relevant page content and/or screenshots of the pages you are automating to Runback’s cloud AI services. This data leaves your device. It may be stored and logged by those services for as long as is needed to produce your automation and to operate and troubleshoot the service. The data is used solely to produce and run your automations; it is not sold or used for advertising. Separately, the desktop application saves local artifacts — your recordings, captured screenshots and generated automation scripts — on your own computer.
Building and testing automations responsibly
An automation acts on real websites using your own logged-in session and can change real data. While you are creating, testing or debugging an automation, we strongly recommend using a non-production account or a dedicated test system / environment rather than a live production account, so that a mistaken or in-progress automation cannot affect important data. You are responsible for the accounts and systems you choose to automate.
What we do NOT do
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising or to build user profiles. We do not use it for any purpose unrelated to running your automations. We do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
Retention & control
Local settings and identifiers remain until you uninstall the extension or app, or clear browser data. You can stop all data access at any time by uninstalling the extension or quitting the Runback desktop application.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where the change is material, ask you to review it again in the app.

- 标签信息——你正在自动化的标签页 URL、标题、加载状态,用于定位正确页面并同步步骤。
- Cookie——你正在自动化的站点的会话 Cookie,使自动化能在你已登录的会话中继续。
- 本地设置——扩展与应用的设置及每浏览器实例标识,保存在你本机。
只有当你主动录制或运行自己创建的自动化时,Runback 才会作用于网页;不会跟踪或监视你的日常浏览。
你的数据流向哪里
浏览器扩展仅通过 Chrome 原生消息(或 127.0.0.1 本地回退)把上述数据传给你自己电脑上已安装的 Runback 桌面应用。扩展自身不会把数据发给任何第三方。
生成 / 调试自动化时的云端处理与留存
为生成、运行或修复(调试)自动化,Runback 桌面应用会将相关页面内容和/或所自动化页面的截图发送至 Runback 云端 AI 服务。这些数据会离开你的设备,并可能在云端 AI 服务中被存储与记录,留存时长以生成你的自动化、以及运行与排障所需为限。数据仅用于生成与运行你的自动化,不出售、不用于广告。此外,桌面应用还会在你本机保存本地产物——你的录制、抓取的截图与生成的自动化脚本。
请负责任地创建与测试自动化
自动化会用你本人已登录的会话作用于真实网站,可能改动真实数据。在你创建、测试或调试自动化期间,我们强烈建议使用非生产账号或专门的测试系统 / 环境,而非真实生产账号,以免误操作或半成品流程影响重要数据。你需对自己选择去自动化的账号与系统负责。
我们不会做的事
不出售你的数据;不用于广告或用户画像;不用于与运行你的自动化无关的任何目的;不用于评估信用或放贷。
留存与控制
本地设置与标识在你卸载扩展或应用、或清除浏览器数据前一直保留。你可随时通过卸载扩展或退出 Runback 桌面应用来停止全部数据访问。
政策变更
我们可能随产品演进更新本政策。届时会更新上方“最后更新”日期;若变更重大,会在应用内请你重新确认。
